One of the biggest hurdles blocking the path to progress for most drug addicts or alcoholics is admitting they have a problem. The main reason for this is the stigma attached to someone who is known to be dependant on a substance or an alcoholic. At First step drug and alcohol rehab, we give you the chance to get your life back to normal. Some people, who suffer from being unable to complete daily tasks without drinking a half bottle a day, or sniffing a gram or two, notice that many of their friends stop associating with them. Getting drug alcohol rehabilitation will help you reclaim the self esteem people lose whilst being dependant on harmful chemicals or alcohol. We hope you’ll be inspired by our website. Drug and alcohol rehabilitation is something any alcoholic or drug addict should seriously consider if they wish to return to living the life they lived before their dependency began. Any parent who has children ruining their lives by taking pills every day, do something for them now, give us a call.

Coupled with the intensive Inventory and Self-Discovery piece of our program, a client can uncover, discover and discard those things in their life which are blocking them off from recovering from their addictions. Removing years of guilt, shame and remorse can reveal the person that they truly are and allow them to continue their life afterwards, clean and sober…an empowered being.
Drug Rehab specifically provided in residential rehabilitation programmes is one of the longest established forms of treatment for drug addiction. Studies from the world over have shown improved outcomes after treatment in residential rehabilitation programmes.
Residential Drug rehab programmes aim to engender and maintain abstinence in a residential setting. It is recognised that people with complex problems related to drug misuse may require respite and an intense programme of support and care which cannot realistically be delivered in a community or outpatient setting.
The broad array of residential drug rehab services for drug treatment and the degree of intensity of therapeutic support varies quite widely across the residential services sector.
The treatment philosophy, structure and intensity of residential drug rehab services vary quite widely. There are three broad types of rehabilitation provision:
Different drug rehab programmes are available, based on cognitive behavioural and motivational interviewing approaches.
Some residential drug rehab programmes require their clients to be drug free on entry, although many now provide medically supervised withdrawal or Drug Detox to prepare the patient to engage more fully with the therapuetic treatment programme.

5 Myths about Drug Addiction and Substance Abuse
MYTH 1: Overcoming addiction is a simply a matter of willpower. You can stop using drugs if you really want to. Prolonged exposure to drugs alters the brain in ways that result in powerful cravings and a compulsion to use. These brain changes make it extremely difficult to quit by sheer force of will.
MYTH 2: Addiction is a disease; there’s nothing you can do about it. Most experts agree that addiction is a brain disease, but that doesn’t mean you’re a helpless victim. The brain changes associated with addiction can be treated and reversed through therapy, medication, exercise, and other treatments.
MYTH 3: Addicts have to hit rock bottom before they can get better. Recovery can begin at any point in the addiction process—and the earlier, the better. The longer drug abuse continues, the stronger the addiction becomes and the harder it is to treat. Don’t wait to intervene until the addict has lost it all.
MYTH 4: You can’t force someone into treatment; they have to want help. Treatment doesn’t have to be voluntary to be successful. People who are pressured into treatment by their family, employer, or the legal system are just as likely to benefit as those who choose to enter treatment on their own. As they sober up and their thinking clears, many formerly resistant addicts decide they want to change.
MYTH 5: Treatment didn’t work before, so there’s no point trying again; some cases are hopeless. Recovery from drug addiction is a long process that often involves setbacks. Relapse doesn’t mean that treatment has failed or that you’re a lost cause. Rather, it’s a signal to get back on track, either by going back to treatment or adjusting the treatment approach.

The umbrella term "drug rehabilitation", also referred to as "drug rehab", is a complex of therapeutic measures and procedures (pharmaceutical, psychotherapeutic, medical, etc.) to help an individual get rid of his or her drug dependency, including psychological and physical types of dependency on various psychoactive agents, such as "street drugs" (amphetamine, crystal meth, heroin, cocaine, etc.), alcohol, prescription drugs, and so on. Various measures of drug rehabilitation are intended to enable the drug user to quit taking drugs and, therefore, to avoid numerous negative consequences and implications of substance abuse - legal, physical, physiological, social, and financial.
