Assessments
The need to carry out an assessment
Once you have contacted us to talk about the particular issue that is troubling you or your loved one we will need to carry out an assessment to get a clearer picture about the nature and scale of the problems. This will also enable us to make far more effective recommendations in respect of the type of treatment we would suggest.
We want to ensure that any treatment being proposed is the most appropriate for the issues being presented. This will go a long way towards ensuring a good response to treatment and, ultimately, supporting a positive outcome for you or your loved one.
We will need to know exactly how much alcohol is being drunk, how much of a particular drug is being used, how severe the particular eating disorder appears, the nature of the mental health issue or personality disorder, has there been any histroy of treatment in the past (whether In-patient detox, Residential Rehab, In-patient psychiatric care, Counselling or 1-1 therapy), what the experience of any treatment has been and what other issues are relevant such as general health or mental health.
Free Full Telephone Assessment
A free full telephone assessment can take up to 1 hour (depending upon the needs of the person being assessed). The aim is for us to get a picture of you, your situation and how you got to where you are now in your life. This is a joint process. We have the expertise and knowledge of Drug or Alcohol Addiction, Psychiatric Disorder, and you are the expert in your life, skills and experiences.
How it works
Most of our patients have found this process to be very helpful in its own right. It is a discovery process which allows you to see your situation more objectively and gives us clues as to the best way of managing your treatment and recovery. We will aim to make a decision as quickly as possible, based on the information that you give us at this point, as to what the next steps should be. We encourage you to be as honest as you can as this will help us to help you and that is our primary objective - To Help You.
A trained addiction or psychiatry specialist will carry out this assessment with you at a convenient time for you. We would encourage you to ask as many questions as you like but please leave these until the end of the process as this may answer some of your questions in the assessment itself. The assessment itself is a process we have developed over time calling upon our experience within the various areas of need we work with.

The umbrella term "drug rehabilitation", also referred to as "drug rehab", is a complex of therapeutic measures and procedures (pharmaceutical, psychotherapeutic, medical, etc.) to help an individual get rid of his or her drug dependency, including psychological and physical types of dependency on various psychoactive agents, such as "street drugs" (amphetamine, crystal meth, heroin, cocaine, etc.), alcohol, prescription drugs, and so on. Various measures of drug rehabilitation are intended to enable the drug user to quit taking drugs and, therefore, to avoid numerous negative consequences and implications of substance abuse - legal, physical, physiological, social, and financial.
