About Drugs
Some things you may be interested in to know about drugs. Drugs are a substance used in all forms from inhaling through the nose to injecting in your veins.
There are types of drugs categorized according to its effects, drugs that are opiates and narcotics are powerful painkillers that cause drowsiness and sometimes feelings of euphoria, these types of drugs are opium, heroin, codeine, Demerol and oxycontin. These substances are usually in the urine from twelve (12) to thirty-six (36) hours (1/2 day to 1 ½ days) from the last use and it also depends on the frequency and amount used.
Another category is the stimulant drugs that attack the central nervous system, such drugs are amphetamines, cocaine, methamphetamine and Ritalin, these drugs can lead to tolerance. Any of these substances can be found in the urine from one (1) to twelve (12) days, again, depending on frequency and amount used.
Then there are the depressants that attack the central nervous system also, these substances are alcohol, barbiturates, valium, ativan, xanax, chloral hydrate and paraldehyde which can sedate you and reduce your anxiety level and can lead to dependence or abuse and eventually addiction. These substances can be found in urine up to seven (7) days after use, depending how quickly it is removed from the body.
Hallucinogens substances such as LSD, mescaline, mushrooms and angel dust can cause people to see things that are not there and can lead to psychological dependence. Like depressants, these substances can be found up to seven (7) days after use.
Then there is THC which is the active ingredient found in marijuana and hashish, these substance relax the muscles and subdue pain. In regular users, it can be found up to twenty-eight days after last use.
When using any of the above substance for whatever reasons, whether it is medical or recreational, and one thing should be a variable in the using equation is the effect these substance has on your brain. Brain changes interfere with the ability to think clearly, make good judgment, good behavior and feel normal, because it can lead to tolerance which can lead to abuse then to addiction and once addicted it becomes life ruining and out of control where you would have difficulty making positive choices for your life and destruction of your being.
Whether you have a belief in God or not, your body is the temple of God and if you claim you do not believe in God, ask yourself this question, “Do I want to take that chance”? Having a fear of God does not mean being afraid of God, it simply means bad consequences that could arise from abusing any substance, being wary of what could happen to you if you destroy your body, spirit and mind because of substance abuse.
