After everything has been taken into consideration, the addict or their family must finally settle on a Montana drug rehab that they feel will be of the most help.
They will have decided on a day program or a residential approach, and they will have decided which Montana drug rehab fits their budget. Now they are ready to begin the program.
The professional staff members at the Montana drug rehab will help the addict to understand how addiction works: how it affects the addict physically, and how recovered addicts can avoid the temptation to relapse.
Different Montana drug rehabs will also help the addicted person to better understand how their thoughts and feelings have played a central role in the development of their illness.
One very important subject for any addict is how to identify and avoid high-risk situations. Exactly what is a high-risk situation? It is a set of circumstances in which the addict is at risk for using drugs, despite their desire to stop.
The main risky element that any Montana drug rehab will teach the addict about is the danger of continuing to keep in contact with people they used drugs with – or people they bought drugs from.
As hard as it might seem, the addict must cut off ties with these people if they are to have any hope of recovering. If they don’t, it’s just a matter of time before they relapse.
There are many other way that addicts can be at risk of slipping back into old habits. As they will learn from their Montana drug rehab, they will come to understand that they can be at risk not only because of the people they surround themselves with, but also by places and things.
Educational sessions at the Montana drug rehab will help the addict to recognize that in order to recover they must be aware of how they can be affected by places where they used to use, and by items – such as drug paraphernalia – that might push them to use again.

The umbrella term "drug rehabilitation", also referred to as "drug rehab", is a complex of therapeutic measures and procedures (pharmaceutical, psychotherapeutic, medical, etc.) to help an individual get rid of his or her drug dependency, including psychological and physical types of dependency on various psychoactive agents, such as "street drugs" (amphetamine, crystal meth, heroin, cocaine, etc.), alcohol, prescription drugs, and so on. Various measures of drug rehabilitation are intended to enable the drug user to quit taking drugs and, therefore, to avoid numerous negative consequences and implications of substance abuse - legal, physical, physiological, social, and financial.
